I am officially a Certified Holistic Nutritionist

Since March of this year I have been studying and making my way through a course administered by AFPA (American Fitness Professionals Association) and as of this week, I am officially a Certified Holistic Nutritionist.

I started this journey to really just benefit myself and the people closest to me, but then I realized through the assignments that I love helping people understand their own nutrition. Part of the certification requirements were to conduct multiple practice Nutrition Coaching sessions (shoutout to Alli and Maryanne for being star practice clients). It has been such a fulfilling experience.

I frequently think that maybe I pursue too many different things and need to figure out how to focus my life and energy on fewer things to be more impactful. I wondered if I would regret spending the time and money to earn an official certificate but I don’t regret it at all. I’m so excited to be able to help more people even on an unofficial and conversational level.

Using my certificate in the future

As of right now I don’t plan to take on many official clients because life is so busy. And, of course, there are so many other things I want to learn and do :). I hope to take on a select few clients who are really excited to learn about nutrition though. I want to host some workshops that more people can attend and deliver good information for free or low cost. I’m passionate about making sure as many people as possible understand their own nutrition.

If you are interested in meeting for some nutrition coaching sessions, drop me a line. Let me know why and I will get back to you about it. Otherwise, I’ll drop the link to my top 10 favorite books on the subject of nutrition, gut health, and wellness. And I’ll leave you with a shot of my beautiful new certificate 🙂
