Yes you read that title correctly… I sure did walk from the United States of America all the way to Mexico just for lunch (and a couple margaritas which were extra fuerte… uh… strong!).
So, down in Texas in a little town called Progreso, there is the Progreso International Bridge where you can pay $1.00 and walk across the bridge into Mexico… they don’t even check your passport (until you come BACK to the USA).
I made a super fun video all about it and we even saw a BOTTLE DANCER in the restaurant where we ate lunch, it was quite the experience.
Here is a shot of the bottle dancer in the restaurant… she literally just walked into the restaurant from the street, grabbed someone’s bottle of beer and went for it.
While I was there I obviously had to get a bag of Takis to try (I had never tried them until this trip! Crazy!) I’m not sure how but this was the only photo I got of me and Takis… please excuse me awkward face.
Also I need to share with you, this ELOTE “TRUCK” – it’s a jacked up golf cart powered by SOMETHING in that tank sitting on the passenger side. For any of you that don’t know, “Elote” is the proper name for Mexican Street Corn, which is basically sweet corn mixed with mayo, cheese and some chili seasoning that is very tasty!

That’s good to know! When we lived in TX we took a trip to Mexico and had tacos. A safe bet with our three little kids. No problems with them but they are completely different than Taco Bell😂
